All I ask of you is one thing: please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism — it’s my least favorite quality and it doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen. conan o'brien.

i don't know why i haven't written about what happened to the tonight show, probably because i wanted to pretend that it wasn't happening. anyone who knows me knows that conan is one of my favorite people (and my first crush, hah). i grew up watching him late at night when i first started having insomnia. the reason why he was my first crush was because he is so goofy and random, and adorable and honest. he is the most refreshing and creative late night tv show host, and one of the most talented writers ever. he deserved the tonight show more than anyone else, and it's not fair what happened to him. but i know he will move on to somewhere better- nbc has always treated him like shit, and tried to change his writing. i know it might seem stupid or pointless to invest this much into a show or a host, but conan is one of my biggest inspirations. if there's anyone who shaped my sense of humor, its him and the humor and wit in my illustrations are proof. he has absolutely changed comedy for the better, and this is the biggest mistake nbc will ever make.

i love you, conan. i hope you have a new show soon. i'll be there.

You Scored as Lt. Kara Thrace (Starbuck)

You are the best damn Viper pilot in the fleet, so everyone else can just frack off. They need you, not the other way around. Maybe if you keep pushing people away they won't get close, because that is scary and it hurts. Oh yes, and anyone who has a problem with you being a woman needs to just get over it.

dov charney, founder of american apparel is being sued for the fifth time for sexual harassment.

His latest accuser is Jeneleen Floyd, who worked in the product-placement department at AA’s headquarters in Los Angeles. She claims that, one afternoon, he stormed into her office in a blind fury and demanded she pretend to masturbate for him. She demurred, so another (male) colleague obliged and, for good measure, Charney joined in, too.

If true, this is quite vanilla by Charney’s standards. At his office and factory, the geekily handsome Canadian is known to attend business meetings in his underwear — once, memorably, in a thong — and regularly refers to female employees as “sluts” and “whores”. (“Some of us love sluts,” he said by way of defence in a recent deposition.)

More jaw-droppingly, in the course of an interview with a female reporter from an American women’s fashion magazine, Charney wiggled in his desk chair, loosened his Pierre Cardin belt and inquired, “Can I?” Without pausing for an answer, he hoiked his trousers down and proceeded to, well, you know, all the while chatting away about AA’s business forecast for the coming year. The reporter dished in her piece, claiming Charney had pleasured himself in front of her “eight or so times” and that she also witnessed him request oral sex from an employee, who obliged.

charney is a fucking pig, and i don't get the american apparel craze. i refuse to support this asshole, who's advertisements degrade women and look like soft core porn. while i support sweat shop free clothes, i cannot reconcile giving money to a man who lacks the ethics he claims he has. do i buy clothes made in a sweat shop, or clothes made by workers who are sexually harassed. although, there is often no difference.

so, now that there is a new american apparel open on the east side of milwaukee, i would like you to think before you hand your money over to a corporation run by this chauvinist, ignorant pig. or maybe you just like those deep v-necks so much it doesn't matter.
